Call to Worship:  Psalm 100 (Old 100th)
By Louis Bourgeois (1551); Arr. Celtic Worship (2021)

All people that on earth do dwell
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice
Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell
Come ye before Him and rejoice

The Lord, ye know, is God indeed
Without our aid, He did us make
We are His flock, He doth us feed
And for His sheep, He doth us take

CHORUS:
Yahweh, into Your courts
We enter with thankful hearts
O faithful God, Your love endures
Yahweh, into Your courts
We enter with thankful hearts
O faithful God, Your love endures

O enter, then, His gates with praise
Approach with joy His courts unto
Praise laud and bless His name always
For it is seemly so to do

For why the Lord, our God, is good
His mercy is forever sure
His truth, at all times, firmly stood
And shall from age to age endure (Chorus)

All My Ways Are Known to You
CityAlight

In days of peace and days of rest
In times of loss and loneliness
Though rich or poor, Your word is true
That all my ways are known to You

No trial has come beyond Your hand
No step I walk beyond Your plan
The path is dark outside my view
Still all my ways are known to You

CHORUS:
And oh what peace that I have found wherever I may be
For all my ways are known to You Hallelujah, they are known to You!

I do not fear the final night
For death will be the door to life
You take my hand and lead me through
For all my ways are known to You

BRIDGE:
Open up my eyes so I may see
That You have made these ways for me
Open up my eyes so I may see
That You my God, will walk with me

Confession of Sin
Luke 18:10-14

Leader:   Jesus also told this parable… "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus:

All:  'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.'

Leader:  But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,

All:  'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'

Leader:  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."

Silent Prayers of Confession

God’s Assurance of Forgiveness
Revelation 5

Leader:  Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals.  And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?"  And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it,  and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.  And one of the elders said to me,

All:  "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals."

Leader:  And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.  And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne.  And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.  And they sang a new song, saying,

All:  "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth."

Leader:  Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,

All:  "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!"

Leader:  And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,

All:  "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"

Leader:  And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Is He Worthy?
Andrew Peterson

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this? He is

Does the Father truly love us? (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah, hold forever those He loves? (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From every people and tribe, and every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God to reign with the Son
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?  Is He worthy of this?

He is! He is! He is! He is! He is worthy! He is worthy!
Of all blessing and honor and glory
He is worthy of this;  He is

Sermon Passage
Psalm 39:1-13

TO THE CHOIRMASTER: TO JEDUTHUN. A PSALM OF DAVID.
I said, "I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence."  2 I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse.  3 My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
4 "O LORD, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!  5 Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah  6 Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!
7 "And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.  8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool!  9 I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it.  10 Remove your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of your hand.  11 When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely all mankind is a mere breath! Selah
12 "Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers.  13 Look away from me, that I may smile again, before I depart and am no more!"

Leader:  The grass withers and the flower fades...
All:  ...but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Jesus, Your Mercy
Songwriter(s): Bob Kauflin, Jordan Kauflin, Nathan Stiff

Jesus, Your mercy is all my plea
I have no defense, my guilt runs too deep
The best of my works pierced Your hands and Your feet
Jesus, Your mercy is all my plea

Jesus, Your mercy is all my boast
The goodness I claim, the grounds of my hope
Whatever I lack it’s still what I need most
Jesus, Your mercy is all my boast

CHORUS:
Praise the King who bore my sin
Took my place when I stood condemned
Oh how good You’ve always been to me
I will sing of Your mercy

Jesus, Your mercy is all my rest
When fears weigh me down and enemies press
A comfort I cling to in life and in death
Jesus Your mercy is all my rest

Jesus, your mercy is all my joy
Forever I’ll lift my heart and my voice
To sing of a treasure no pow’r can destroy
Jesus, your mercy is all my joy

God of Calvary
By Matt Maher, Chris Tomlin, Jonas Myrin, and Matthew James Redman

On the hill of Calvary the Light of all the world
With the world on His shoulders
The weight of all our shame on Him who knew no sin
A holy surrender

The sky went dark; the angels wept; The Father looked away
The final breath; He bowed His head; The Lamb of God was slain

By His wounds I am set free. By His blood I've been redeemed
The great divide He crossed for me, Oh, praise the God of Calvary

On the hill of Calvary into His Father's hands; A holy surrender
A borrowed tomb; His mother wept; And there His body lay
The stone was moved; He conquered death; And rose from the grave

By His wounds I am set free; By His blood I've been redeemed
The great divide He crossed for me; Oh, praise the God of Calvary

And if I never, ever lose sight of this place
I will never, ever lose sight of Your grace
Your cross is all, all I need to see; Oh, praise the God of Calvary

By Your wounds I am set free; By Your blood I've been redeemed
The great divide You crossed for me; Oh, praise the God of Calvary
Your cross is all, all I need to see; Oh, praise the God of Calvary

Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
