Call to Worship
Psalm 46:4-11
Leader: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.
All: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire.
Leader: "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
All: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
By Charles Wesley, David Crowder
O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim
To spread through all the earth abroad the honors of Thy name.
CHORUS:
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love, Jesus
Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease
'Tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life and health and peace.
He breaks the power of cancelled sin, He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean; His blood availed for me.
He speaks and listening to His voice new life the dead receive
The mournful broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe
Glory to God and praise and love be now and ever given
By saints below and saints above, the Church in earth and heaven. (Chorus)
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love
So, come on… So, come on…
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love…
There is one great love…
There is one great love, Jesus
Confession of Sin
Proverbs 14:2-9
Leader: Whoever walks in uprightness fears the LORD,
All: but he who is devious in his ways despises him.
Leader: By the mouth of a fool comes a rod for his back,
All: but the lips of the wise will preserve them.
Leader: Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean,
All: but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.
Leader: A faithful witness does not lie,
All: but a false witness breathes out lies.
Leader: A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain,
All: but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.
Leader: Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.
The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way,
All: but the folly of fools is deceiving.
Leader: Fools mock at the guilt offering,
All: but the upright enjoy acceptance.
Silent Prayers of Confession
In Tenderness
By W. Spencer Walton (1894); Arr. by Citizens
In tenderness He sought me; weary and sick with sin
And on His shoulders brought me back to His fold again
While angels in His presence sang; until the courts of heaven rang
CHORUS:
Oh oh oh, the love that sought me!
Oh oh oh, the blood that bought me!
Oh, the grace that brought me to the fold of God
Grace that brought me to the fold of God
He died for me while I was sinning needy and poor and blind
He whispered to assure me, ”I've found thee; thou art Mine"
I never heard a sweeter voice; it made my aching heart rejoice
Upon His grace I'll ponder and sing anew His praise
With all adoring wonder His blessings I retrace
It seems as if eternal days are far too short to sing His praise
Assurance of God’s Forgiveness
Isaiah 40:28-31
Leader: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
All: He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Leader: Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
All: but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Grace Will Prevail
Wendell Kimbrough
Grace will prevail, though the darkness is strong
And the burden weighs heavy and long
Grace will prevail, for our God is the Light
Rending the cover of night; Grace will prevail
Grace will prevail, in the valleys of shame
Where the echoes of failure remain
Grace will prevail, with the cry to the Lord
There's a mountain of mercy in store; Grace will prevail
CHORUS:
Wait for the Lord our God; Wait for the Lord our God
Wait for the Lord, our rest and reward and our peace
Grace will prevail, through the wreckage and storm
And the brokenness washed on the shore
Grace will prevail, though an ocean we cry
He is with us and weeps by our side
Till the day they forever run dry
BRIDGE:
Take heart, he has overcome the world, He has overcome
Take heart, he has overcome the world, He has overcome
Take heart, he has overcome the world, He has overcome
Take heart, he has overcome the world

Sermon Passage
Acts 2:1-21
1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians- we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God." 12 And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "What does this mean?" 13 But others mocking said, "They are filled with new wine."
14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15 For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:
17 "'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. 19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; 20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. 21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
Leader: The grass withers and the flower fades...
All: ...but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Come Thou Fount
Robert Robinson (1758); Alterer: Martin Madan (1760)
Come Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love
Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor,
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, Lord take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above
O that day when freed from sinning
I shall see Thy lovely face
Clothed then in my blood washed linen,
How I'll sing Thy sovereign grace
Come, my Lord, do not tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away
Send Thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless days
The Lord’s Supper
† Receive bread and juice from one of our section hosts near you. Gluten free wafers are available at the front table. We will all eat and drink together.
Living Water
Shane and Shane
Dry bones right now; breathe in, breathe out
No more drinking the dirt, I'm thirsty
Oh, Spirit of resurrection flowing through me
You've made me a new creation, how can it be?
CHORUS:
Living water deep within me, saturate my soul
Like a river, break the levee, let it overflow
I could never have too much of Your love, Your love
Living water deep within me, saturate my soul
One life soon past only what's done for You will last
So break on this dry ground, spring a well from the inside out
BRIDGE:
Holy Spirit, holy presence
You have changed the atmosphere here in my chest
Holy well spring, what's in store
I am longing for more
Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
