Call to Worship
Matthew 28:1-8

LEADER:  Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you." So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
Christ is risen.
ALL:  He is risen indeed!

In Christ Alone
Stewart Townend

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

You’ve Already Won
Shane and Shane

There's peace that outlasts darkness; hope that's in the blood
There's future grace that's mine today that Jesus Christ has won
So I can face tomorrow for tomorrow's in Your hands
All I need, You will provide just like You always have

CHORUS:
I'm fighting a battle You've already won
No matter what comes my way I will overcome
Don't know what You're doing, but I know what You've done
And I'm fighting a battle You've already won

There's mercy in the waiting; manna for today
And when it's gone, I know You're not
You are my hope and stay
When the sea is raging Your Spirit is my help
He'll fix my eyes on Jesus Christ I'll say that it is well
Oh, I know that it is well

BRIDGE:
I know how the story ends; We will be with You again
You're my Savior, my defense; No more fear in life or death
(Repeat)

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
©1995 Kingsway’s Thankyou Music. Words and Music by Stuart Townend

How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son, To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss, The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One, Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon the cross, My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice, Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there, Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything: No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ; His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom (Repeat)

Confession of Sin
Matthew 25:31-40

LEADER:  "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right,
ALL:  'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'
LEADER:  Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them,
ALL:  'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Silent Prayers

Assurance of Forgiveness
Psalm 24:7-10, Matthew 20:26-28

LEADER:  Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
ALL:  Who is this King of glory?
LEADER:  The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!
ALL:  Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
LEADER:  Who is this King of glory?
ALL:  The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory!
LEADER:  But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Sermon Passage
Ecclesiastes 3:9-13

9 What gain has the worker from his toil?  10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.  11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.  12 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live;  13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil- this is God's gift to man.

LEADER:  The grass withers, the flower fades...
ALL:  ...but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Behold the Lamb of God
Andrew Peterson, 2004.

We who walk in darkness deep
Now see the light of morning
The Mighty God, the Prince of Peace
A child to us is born

CHORUS:
Behold, the Lamb of God
Who takes away our sin
Behold, the Lamb of God
The life and light of men
Behold, the Lamb of God
Who died and rose again
Behold the Lamb of God who comes
To take away our sin

Wanderers in the wilderness
O hear a voice is crying
Prepare the way, make straight the path
Your King has come to die

BRIDGE:
Son of God (Emmanuel)
Son of Man (We praise You)
Behold (Behold) the Lamb
The hope (the hope) of man
Behold the Lamb

Glorious
By Sovereign Grace Music

You slept beneath the stars You named and numbered
Were tempted in a desert You designed
You faithfully obeyed the law You authored
The King left His throne behind

You washed the feet of those who called You Master
And fed the multitudes with truth and bread
You shared the feast with harlots and with sinners
And loved those who sought Your death

CHORUS 1:
Glorious… Lord, You are glorious
Shepherd and King, forever You’ll be glorious

Without a word You faced the accusations
And joyfully You bore the bitter cross
The Innocent received our condemnation
And paid for the rebel’s cost

CHORUS 2:
Glorious… Lord, You are glorious
Shepherd and King, forever You’ll be
Glorious… Holy and here with us
Let every heart declare that You are glorious

Beneath the earth You fashioned You were buried
The Word of Life was silenced by the grave
But doors of death could not contain Your glory
Our God rolled the stone away (Chorus 2)

Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
