LEADER:  How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.  
ALL:  Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.  
LEADER:  Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise!              Selah

Confession of Sin:  1 Corinthians 15:31-35, 51-53

LEADER:  I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!  
ALL:  What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."  
LEADER:  Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals." Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.  But someone will ask,
ALL:  "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?"
LEADER:  Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

LEADER:  When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
ALL:  "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"  
LEADER:  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  
ALL:  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
LEADER:  Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Sermon Passage:  Ecclesiastes 11:7-12:8

11:7 Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.  8 So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is vanity.  9 Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.  10 Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.  
12:1 Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, "I have no pleasure in them";  2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are darkened and the clouds return after the rain,  3 in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look through the windows are dimmed,  4 and the doors on the street are shut- when the sound of the grinding is low, and one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song are brought low-  5 they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails, because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets-  6 before the silver cord is snapped, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern,  7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.  8 Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.
