Call to Worship
Psalm 34:1-8

LEADER:  I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
ALL:I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
LEADER:This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
ALL:Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

No Place Better (Psalm 84)
Caroline Cobb

How lovely is Your dwelling place
How wonderful Your presence, Lord
How my soul longs to see Your face
To come with joy into Your courts
How blessed is the little sparrow
Who makes a nest inside Your house
‘Cause I can think of no place better
To make a home and sing out loud

CHORUS:
I want to be in Your presence
I want to be near Your heart
I want to know You’re close
Even when I’m feeling far
I don’t want what this world would offer
I want the living God
‘Cause there’s no place better
Than where You are

We will go from strength to strength
Even in the wilderness
You are turning tears to desert springs
Leaving gardens in our footsteps
How blessed is the longing pilgrim
Whose heart is set on Zion’s hill
The one who knows there’s no place better
To bring our sorrows and be filled (Chorus)

BRIDGE:
One day with You
Is better than a thousand elsewhere
One word from You
Is better than silver or gold
I’d rather be; a servant in Your house, oh God
Than a king with all the riches I could hold (Chorus)

Only A Holy God
by Michael Farren, Jonny Robinson, Dustin Smith, Rich Thompson

Who else commands all the hosts of heaven
Who else could make every king bow down
Who else can whisper and darkness trembles
Only a Holy God

What other beauty demands such praises
What other splendour outshines the sun
What other majesty rules with justice
Only a Holy God

Chorus:  Come and behold Him, the One and the Only
Cry out, sing holy; Forever a Holy God
Come and worship the Holy God
Come and worship the Holy God

What other glory consumes like fire
What other power can raise the dead
What other name remains undefeated
Only a Holy God

Who else could rescue me from my failing
Who else would offer His only Son
Who else invites me to call Him Father
Only a Holy God
Only my Holy God

Confession of Sin
Leviticus 19:13-18,33-34

LEADER:  "You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
ALL:You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.
LEADER:"You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.
ALL:You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.
LEADER:"You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.
ALL:You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
LEADER:"When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.
ALL:You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Silent Prayers

Assurance of Forgiveness
1 Peter 2:9-10

LEADER:But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people,
ALL:but now you are God's people;
LEADER:once you had not received mercy,
ALL:but now you have received mercy.

Blessed Assurance
CityAlight

All my attempts to be satisfied were vain and empty
Until the moment You rescued me and Your love filled me
My soul sings, now my soul sings

CHORUS:
What blessed assurance I've found in You, I've found in You
I won't be shaken, I will not be moved
How steadfast Your strong hand is keeping me, is keeping me
I won't be shaken, I will not be moved
Oh, blessed assurance

No other love that I've ever known compares to You, God
No other love that I've ever found has done what You've done
My soul sings, now my soul sings

BRIDGE:
Ever my anchor, ever my strength
Ever my portion and all I need
Ever my healing, ever my hope
Ever the truth that leads me home
That leads me home

Sermon Passage
1 Peter 1:13-25

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,  15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,  16 since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."  17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,  18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,  19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.  20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for your sake,  21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.  22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,  23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;  24 for "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass.

LEADER:  The grass withers, and the flower falls,
ALL:  25 but the word of the Lord remains forever."
LEADER:  And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me
By CityAlight

What gift of grace is Jesus my Redeemer
There is no more for heaven now to give
He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom
My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
For my life is wholly bound to His
Oh, how strange and divine, I can sing, all is mine
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

The night is dark, but I am not forsaken
For by my side, the Savior He will stay
I labour on in weakness and rejoicing
For in my need His power is displayed
To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me
Through the deepest valley He will lead
Oh, the night has been won, and I shall overcome
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven
The future sure, the price it has been paid
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon
And He was raised to overthrow the grave
To this I hold, my sin has been defeated
Jesus now and ever is my plea
Oh, the chains are released, I can sing, I am free
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

With every breath I long to follow Jesus
For He has said that He will bring me home
And day by day I know He will renew me
Until I stand with joy before the throne
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
All the glory evermore to Him
When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

The Love Of The Father
CityAlight

Lift up your voices and lift up your praise
Join with the heavens declaring the wonders
Of His faithfulness forever
Sing of the victory, the hope of the world
The Savior has risen, the Spirit has come to
Bring us into love forever

CHORUS:
Oh, we are the people of God
With the freedom of hope in our hearts
How great is the love of the Father

Lifted from darkness and into the light
The sons and the daughters are loved at a price
Our God has made us His forever

BRIDGE:
This is the song of the redeemed, the ransomed and the free
Given life at such a price; this is love, this is love
And when the Father calls us home and we see Him on the throne
Hear the voices sing as one, “This is love, this is love”

Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
