Call to Worship
Psalm 130 - A SONG OF ASCENTS.

Leader:  Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD!
All:  O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
Leader:  If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
All:  But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.
Leader:  I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning,
All:  more than watchmen for the morning.
Leader:  O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.
All:  And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Psalm 100 (Old 100th)
By Louis Bourgeois (1551); Arr. Celtic Worship (2021)

All people that on earth do dwell
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice
Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell
Come ye before Him and rejoice

The Lord, ye know, is God indeed
Without our aid, He did us make
We are His flock, He doth us feed
And for His sheep, He doth us take

CHORUS:
Yahweh, into Your courts
We enter with thankful hearts
O faithful God, Your love endures
Yahweh, into Your courts
We enter with thankful hearts
O faithful God, Your love endures

O enter, then, His gates with praise
Approach with joy His courts unto
Praise laud and bless His name always
For it is seemly so to do

For why the Lord, our God, is good
His mercy is forever sure
His truth, at all times, firmly stood
And shall from age to age endure (Chorus)

O Worship The King All Glorious Above  (Psalm 104)
by Michael Farren, By: Robert Grant (1833); Arr:  Wendell Kimbrough (2014)

O worship the King all-glorious above
O gratefully sing His power and His love
Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days
Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise

O tell of His might and sing of His grace
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm

Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail
In You do we trust, nor find You to fail
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend

O measureless might, unchangeable love
Whom angels delight to worship above
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze
In true adoration shall sing to Your praise

Confession of Sin
Colossians 3:1-17

Leader:  If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
All:  Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
Leader:  Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
All:  Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Assurance of Forgiveness
Psalm 130:3-4

All:  But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.

Rise My Soul, The Lord Is Risen
CityAlight

Rise my soul the Lord is risen
Come behold the empty grave
See the place where darkness laid Him
Sing for only hope remains
Hallelujah, Praise forever
Death defeated and life restored
By that great immortal power
Christ is risen, arise my soul!

Rest my soul the Lord is risen
Love’s redeeming work is done
Now the Father sees His children
As He sees His Sinless Son
O the wonder, O the glory
That same favour is now my own
Shame behind me, grace before me
Christ is risen, arise my soul!

Peace my soul, the Lord is risen
Come and have your hope renewed
For this trial is brief and fleeting
Tears will turn to glory soon
Shout with joy and sound the triumph
Let the music of heaven roar
Let the boast of death be silent
Christ is risen, arise my soul!

Rise my soul for I am risen
Seated now with Christ my Lord
As my life belongs to heaven
Fear shall hold its sway no more
[Onward, upward, t’ward the treasure
Filled with courage and endless hope
For this truth Is mine forever
Christ is risen arise my soul!] Repeat

Sermon Passage
Psalm 5

TO THE CHOIRMASTER: FOR THE FLUTES. A PSALM OF DAVID.
Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. 2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. 3 O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. 5 The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. 6 You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
7 But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. 8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.
9 For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. 10 Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. 12 For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

Leader:  The grass withers, the flower fades,
All:  but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Praise to the Lord, The Almighty
By: Joachim Neander (1680); Trans. by: Catherine Winkworth (1863); Arr: Nathan Drake (2021)

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation
O my soul, praise Him, for He is your health and salvation
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near
Praise Him in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings, Yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee

Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him
Let the amen sound from his people again
Gladly for aye we adore Him

Saints and servants, hosts of heaven
All creation, Praise the name of the Lord!
Night and morning, sing His glory, now and forevermore

Earthly kingdoms, all dominions
Bow before Him, Praise the name of the Lord!
None as holy, none as worthy, now and forevermore

CHORUS 1:
Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God?  Who is like the Lord our God?

Our Lord Jesus wore our weakness
To redeem us, Praise the name of the Lord!
In His kindness He will keep us now and forevermore

Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God?
Raised us from the ashes, He has turned our grief to gladness
Who is like the Lord our God?  Who is like the Lord our God?

High and holy, meek and lowly, There is no one like You
Our Messiah, here beside us, There is no one like You

CHORUS 3:
Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God?
