Call to Worship
Romans 7:1-7
Leader: Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
All: which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
Leader: concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
All: and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
Leader: through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,
All: including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,
Leader: To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
O Worship The King All Glorious Above (Psalm 104)
by Michael Farren, By: Robert Grant (1833); Arr: Wendell Kimbrough (2014)
O worship the King all-glorious above
O gratefully sing His power and His love
Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days
Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise
O tell of His might and sing of His grace
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm
Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain
Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail
In You do we trust, nor find You to fail
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend
O measureless might, unchangeable love
Whom angels delight to worship above
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze
In true adoration shall sing to Your praise
Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God
By Stuart Townend & Keith Getty (2006)
Holy Spirit, living Breath of God
Breathe new life into my willing soul
Bring the presence of the risen Lord
To renew my heart and make me whole
Cause Your Word to come alive in me
Give me faith for what I cannot see
Give me passion for Your purity
Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me
Holy Spirit, come abide within
May Your joy be seen in all I do
Love enough to cover every sin
In each thought and deed and attitude
Kindness to the greatest and the least
Gentleness that sows the path of peace
Turn my striving into works of grace
Breath of God, show Christ in all I do
Holy Spirit, from creation's birth
Giving life to all that God has made
Show your power once again on earth
Cause Your church to hunger for Your ways
Let the fragrance of our prayers arise
Lead us on the road of sacrifice
That in unity the face of Christ
Will be clear for all the world to see
Confession of Sin
Romans 1:16-25
† If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
All: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
Leader: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
All: For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Leader: For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
All: Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
Leader: Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
All: because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Our Confession
† Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Forgiveness
Romans 8:21-25a
Leader: But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it- the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
All: whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness…
Thy Mercy
By John Stoker and Sandra McCracken
Thy mercy, my God is the theme of my song
The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue
Thy free grace alone from the first to the last
Has won my affections and bound my soul fast
Without Thy sweet mercy I could not live here
Sin would reduce me to utter despair
But through Thy free goodness, my spirits revive
And He that first made me still keeps me alive
Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart
Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart
Dissolved by Thy goodness, I fall to the ground
And week for the praise of the mercy I found Hallelujah!
Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own
And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son
All praise to the Spirit whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Sermon Passage
Romans 12:1-13
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Leader: The grass withers, the flower fades...
All: ...but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Take My Life
Frances R. Havergal, 1874; Henri A. Cesar Malan, 1827.
Take my life and let it be, Consecrated, Lord, to Thee
Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move, At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be, Swift and beautiful for Thee
Swift and beautiful for Thee
Take my voice and let me sing, Always, only, for my King
Take my lips and let them be, Filled with messages from Thee
Filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use, Every power as Thou shalt choose
Every power as Thou shalt choose
Take my will and make it Thine, It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart; it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne
It shall be Thy royal throne
Take my love; my Lord, I pour, At Thy feet its treasure-store
Take my self, and I will be, Ever, only, all for Thee
Ever, on - ly, all for Thee

The Church’s One Foundation
Hal Hopson, Samuel Stone, Samuel S. Wesley; Arr: Perimeter Worship.
The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord
She is His new creation by water and the Word
From Heaven He came and sought her to be His holy bride
With His Own Blood He bought her, and for her life He died
Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth
Her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food
And to one Hope she presses, with every grace endued
CHORUS:
Hallelujah! Our salvation, Jesus Christ is our foundation!
Hallelujah! Our salvation, Jesus Christ is our foundation!
‘Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war
She waits the consummation of peace forevermore
Till, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest
And the great church victorious shall be the church at rest
Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One
And mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won
O happy ones and holy! Lord give us grace that we
Like them the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with Thee
Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
