Call to Worship
Psalm 95:1-11

All:  Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Leader:  For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
All:  Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Leader:  Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
(For forty years I loathed that generation and said, "They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways." Therefore I swore in my wrath, "They shall not enter my rest.”)

King of Love (Psalm 23)
Henry Williams Baker. arr. I Am They.

The King of love my Shepherd is whose goodness faileth never
I nothing lack if I am His and He is mine forever, and He is mine forever

Where streams of living water flow my ransomed soul He leadeth
And where the verdant pastures grow with food celestial feedeth

CHORUS:
Never failing ruler of my heart
Everlasting lover of my soul
On the mountain high or in the valley low
The King of love my Shepherd is
The King of love my Shepherd is

Lost and foolish oft I strayed but yet in love He sought me
And on His shoulder gently laid and home, rejoicing, brought me

In death's dark vale I fear no ill with Thee, dear Lord, beside me
Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me

BRIDGE:
Oh——— Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Oh——— Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

And so through all the length of days, Thy goodness faileth never
Good Shepherd, may I sing Your praise within Your house forever.
Within Your house forever

Abide
by Aaron Williams, Aaron Keyes, Jake Fauber (2023).

For my waking breath, for my daily bread
I depend on You, I depend on You
For the sun to rise, for my sleep at night
I depend on You, I depend on You

CHORUS 1:
You're the way, the truth and the life;
You're the well that never runs dry
I'm the branch and You are the vine;
Draw me close and teach me to abide

Where the Spirit leads as I'm following
I depend on You, yes I depend on You
For the victories still in front of me
I depend on You, yes I depend on You

CHORUS 2:
You're the way, the truth and the life;
You're the well that never runs dry
I'm the branch and You are the vine;
Draw me close and teach me to abide
Be my strength, my song in the night;
Be my all, my treasure, my prize
I am Yours forever You're mine;
Draw me close and teach me to abide

When I pass through death as I enter rest
I depend on You, I depend on You
For eternal life to be raised with Christ
I depend on You, I depend on You

ENDING:
I depend on You, I depend on You
I depend on You, I depend on You

Confession of Sin
Hebrews 3:5-13

All:  Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
Leader:  Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.' As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'"
All:  Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Our Confession
† Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Forgiveness
Hebrews 4:7-10, 14-16

Leader:  …again he appoints a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on.
All:  So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Leader:  Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
All:  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

My Worth is Not in What I Own
Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty, and Graham Kendrick (2014)

My worth is not in what I own
Not in the strength of flesh and bone
But in the costly wounds of love, At the cross

My worth is not in skill or name
In win or lose, in pride or shame
But in the blood of Christ that flowed, At the cross

CHORUS:
I rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure
Wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him alone

As summer flowers we fade and die
Fame, youth and beauty hurry by
But life eternal calls to us, At the cross

I will not boast in wealth or might
Or human wisdom's fleeting light
But I will boast in knowing Christ, At the cross (Chorus)

Two wonders here that I confess
My worth and my unworthiness
My value fixed, my ransom paid, At the cross (Chorus)

We Need To Hear Your Word (Psalm 119:33-40)
Nathan Partain

Train our hearts to love what You command
We let go of our perceptions as You lead us by the hand
Every foreign step we trust You as we follow further on
As you give us your desire, we obey with all we are

CHORUS:
Oh, we need to hear Your Word
Oh, we need to hear Your Word
Please don’t let Your branches wither
or Your children die for thirst
Oh, we need to hear Your Word

Sermon Passage
John 10:10-21
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father."
19 There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. 20 Many of them said, "He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?" 21 Others said, "These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"
Leader:The grass withers, the flower fades,
All:but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Sermon
"The Good Shepherd"
Pastor Mike McBride

Shepherd
CityAlight

Though I walk through the valley and I can’t see the way
When the shadows surround me, I will not be afraid
For I know You are with me, You will always provide
Though the path may be lonely, You will stay by my side

I will rest my soul
I’ll trust in You alone

CHORUS:
For the Lord my Shepherd leads me, leads me
And He is all I need
In the darkest valley, I know, I know
My Shepherd is all I need

Lord I know that You seek me when I’m trying to hide
And Your love it pursues me all the days of my life

BRIDGE:
I rest my soul in You alone
You light my way, You lead me on.

The Lord's Become Our Salvation (Psalm 118)
by Wendell Kimbrough

Out of my distress I called out for help
And the Lord came quickly to save me
Praise our God most high, He is on my side
For the Lord's become my salvation

Open up the gate where the righteous wait
To behold the face of their Savior
I am welcomed in by my Lord and friend
For the Lord's become my salvation

CHORUS:
Oh, give thanks to the Lord
For His never-ending love
We will celebrate what He's done this day
For the Lord's become our salvation
For the Lord's become our salvation

Now the stone ignored by the strong and proud
Has become the Church's foundation
Let the weak give praise for this gift of grace
For the Lord's become our salvation

Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
