Call to Worship
Isaiah 11:1-11, 11:15-12:2

Leader:  There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
All:  And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.
Leader:  Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
All:  In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples- of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.
Leader:  In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
All:  And the LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt, and will wave his hand over the River with his scorching breath, and strike it into seven channels, and he will lead people across in sandals. And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.
Leader:  You will say in that day:"I will give thanks to you, O LORD, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

Prayer of Adoration and Invocation

Isaiah 12
Words and Music: Cameron Gray. ©2009 Rough Harbor Music

Sing to the LORD, come lift up and sing,
God is one, for all He’s done lift up and sing,
Make his Name known to all of the world,
For His banner of love stands unfurled

CHORUS:
Surely God, You are my salvation,
I will trust, I will not be afraid
Surely God, You are my salvation,
And my God, You are worthy to be praised,

Come give thanks, come call on His name,
Come take part, open your heart to praise and proclaim,
And with joy we will draw from that spring,
Oh, and satisfied lift up and sing (Chorus)

BRIDGE:
You are my strength and my song,
Make straight my way, make me Your own

You are my strength and my song,
Make straight my way, and right my wrong (Chorus)

You are my salvation, I will not be afraid

Indescribable
©2004 worshiptogether.com songs (Admin. by EMI Christian Music Publishing). Words & Music: Laura Story.

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing Your majesty
From the colors of Fall to the fragrance of Spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

CHORUS:
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky; And You know them by name; You are amazing, God.
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees; As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God.

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go?
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow?
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light?
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night?
None can fathom (Chorus)

Incomparable, unchangeable,
You see the depths of my heart
And you love me the same; You are amazing, God.

Confession of Sin
1 John 1:8-9

Leader:  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
All:  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Our Confession
† Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Forgiveness
1 Peter 2:7-10

Leader:  "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone," and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense." They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
All:  Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Come Thou Fount
Robert Robinson (1758); Alterer: Martin Madan (1760). Arr. Mercy Me

Come Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

O to grace how great a debtor,
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, Lord take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above

O that day when freed from sinning
I shall see Thy lovely face
Clothed then in my blood washed linen,
How I'll sing Thy sovereign grace
Come, my Lord, do not tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away
Send Thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless days

All Creatures Of Our God And King
By St. Francis of Assisi (1225); Translated by William H. Draper; Arr: David Crowder

All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise Him, alleluia
Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along
O praise Him, alleluia
Thou rising morn in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Thou flowing water, pure and clear,
Make music for thy Lord to hear,
alleluia, alleluia
Thou fire so masterful and bright,
That givest man both warmth and light,
O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

And all ye saints of tender heart
Forgiving others, take your part
O sing ye, alleluia
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear
Praise God and on Him cast your care
O praise Him, O praise Him
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Let all things their Creator bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him, alleluia
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son
And praise the Spirit, three in One
O praise Him, O praise Him
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia (Repeat)

Rock of Ages
Augustus Montague Toplady (1776)

Rock of Ages, cleft for me
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy riven side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure,
cleanse me from its guilt and pow'r.

Not the labors of my hands
can fulfil thy law's demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears for ever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to thy cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the Fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyelids close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
