Sundays at 10:30am

March 30-April 6, 2025

A weekly set of resources that we can use as a community to equip us individually and with one another.  You don't have to use everything.  Try things out on your own, with your family, or with your community and see what excites your heart and imagination.

SCRIPTURE MEMORY

Psalm 107:29-30

He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.  Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.

SONG FOR THE WEEK

Each week, this section will have a song for you to sing, either on your own or with your family. Use this resource to ground the word of God in your heart throughout the week.
"I Will Follow"
By: Jon Guerra and Vertical Worship
When the sea is calm and all is right
When I feel Your favor flood my life
Even in the good, I'll follow You
Even in the good, I'll follow You

When the boat is tossed upon the waves
When I wonder if You'll keep me safe
Even in the storms, I'll follow You
Even in the storms, I'll follow You

CHORUS:
I believe everything that You say You are
I believe and I have seen Your unchanging heart
In the good things and in the hardest part
I believe and I will follow You
I believe and I will follow You

When I see the wicked prospering
When I feel I have no voice to sing
Even in the want, I'll follow You
Yes, even in the want, I'll follow You

When I find myself so far from home
And You lead me somewhere I don't wanna go
Even in my death, I'll follow You
Even in my death, I'll follow You

When I come to end this race I've run
And I receive the prize that Christ has won
Yes, I will be with You in paradise
Oh, I will be with You in paradise

CREEDS, CONFESSIONS, AND CATECHISMS

The Heidelberg Catechism  Questions 1 and 2
https://learn.ligonier.org/articles/the-heidelberg-catechism

1.  What is thy only comfort in life and death?
That I with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; who, with His precious blood, hath fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, and therefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto Him.

2.  How many things are necessary for thee to know, that thou, enjoying this comfort, mayest live and die happily?
Three; the first, how great my sins and miseries are; the second, how I may be delivered from all my sins and miseries; the third, how I shall express my gratitude to God for such deliverance.

BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

On The Incarnation
by Athenasius

As we spend time in the Gospel of John, it's a great time to reflect on the deity of Christ.  Athanasius (296-373) was a theologian and pastor, but also considered to be the greatest defender of this doctrine, even being exiled five times for his belief in it!  His short work "On The Incarnation" (only 60 pages!) helpfully explains how we know God the Son to be eternally divine, but also why this matters in our Christian walk.  I highly recommend the version out there with an introduction written by C.S. Lewis.  His introduction is worth the price of the book!
