Call to Worship
Matthew 11:28-30, Psalm 95:1-2,6-8, Psalm 100:5
Leader: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
All: Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Leader: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
All: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Leader: Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.
All: For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
Prayer of Adoration
O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
By Charles Wesley, David Crowder
O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim
To spread through all the earth abroad the honors of Thy name.
Chorus 1:
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love, Jesus
Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease
'Tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life and health and peace.
He breaks the power of cancelled sin, He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean; His blood availed for me.
Chorus 2:
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love, there is one great love, Jesus
He speaks and listening to His voice new life the dead receive
The mournful broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe
Glory to God and praise and love be now and ever given
By saints below and saints above, the Church in earth and heaven.
Chorus 3:
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love, there is one great love, Jesus Jesus
Bridge:
There are so few words that never grow old
There are so few words that never grow old
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love
So, come on… So, come on…
So, come on and sing out, let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love…
There is one great love…
There is one great love, Jesus
Come Ye Sinners
Joseph Hart; Robbie Seay Band; Shane and Shane; Davy Flowers
Come, ye sinners, poor and needy, weak and wounded, sick and sore
Jesus ready stands to save you full of pity, love, and power
Chorus: I will arise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
In the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
Come, ye thirsty; come and welcome, God’s free bounty glorify
True belief and true repentance, every grace that brings you nigh
Come, ye weary, heavy laden, lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry till you’re better, you will never come at all
Feel Him prostrate in the garden, on the ground your Maker lies
On the bloody tree, behold Him; Sinner, will this not suffice?
Lo! The incarnate God ascended pleads the merit of His blood
Venture on Him, venture wholly; Let no other trust intrude
Prayer of Confession
Job 38:1-13
Leader: Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
All: "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me.
Leader: "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
All: Who determined its measurements- surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
Leader: On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
All: "Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, and said, 'Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed'?
Leader: "Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place, that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it?

Leader: For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
All: And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!
Nearer My God To Thee
Text: Sarah F. Adams, 1841; Music: Lowell Mason, 1856.
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me
Still all my song shall be; Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone
Yet in my prayers I'll be; Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise
Out of my stony griefs, my song I'll raise
So by my woes to be; Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
Or if on joyful wing, breaking the sky
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly
Still all my song shall be; Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

Sermon Passage
Genesis 16
Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar. 2 And Sarai said to Abram, "Behold now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her." And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai. 3 So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her servant, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife. 4 And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress. 5 And Sarai said to Abram, "May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my servant to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me!" 6 But Abram said to Sarai, "Behold, your servant is in your power; do to her as you please." Then Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her.
7 The angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur. 8 And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai." 9 The angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress and submit to her." 10 The angel of the LORD also said to her, "I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude." 11 And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has listened to your affliction. 12 He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen." 13 So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God of seeing," for she said, "Truly here I have seen him who looks after me." 14 Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.
15 And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
