Call to Worship
Philippians 4:4-9
Leader: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
All: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Leader: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise,
All: think about these things.
Leader: What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me- practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Who Is Like The Lord (Psalm 113)
Sovereign Grace Music
Saints and servants, hosts of heaven
All creation, Praise the name of the Lord!
Night and morning, sing His glory, now and forevermore
Earthly kingdoms, all dominions
Bow before Him, Praise the name of the Lord!
None as holy, none as worthy, now and forevermore
Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God? Who is like the Lord our God?
Our Lord Jesus wore our weakness
To redeem us, Praise the name of the Lord!
In His kindness He will keep us now and forevermore
Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God?
Raised us from the ashes, He has turned our grief to gladness
Who is like the Lord our God? Who is like the Lord our God?
High and holy, meek and lowly, There is no one like You
Our Messiah, here beside us, There is no one like You
Crowned with adoration, He is high above the nations
Who is like the Lord our God?
Raised us from the ashes, He has turned our grief to gladness
Who is like the Lord our God? Who is like the Lord our God?
There is no one like our God! There is no one like our God!
Jesus, Strong And Kind
CityAlight, Colin Buchanan, Michael Farren, Jonny Robinson, and Rich Thompson
Jesus said that if I thirst, I should come to Him
No one else can satisfy, I should come to Him
Jesus said if I am weak, I should come to Him
No one else can be my strength, I should come to Him
CHORUS:
For the Lord is good and faithful
He will keep us day and night
We can always run to Jesus
Jesus, strong and kind
Jesus said that if I fear I should come to Him
No one else can be my shield, I should come to Him
Jesus said if I am lost, He will come to me
And He showed me on that cross, He will come to me
Confession of Sin
Philippians 3:1-11
Leader: Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you. Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the real circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh- though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:
All: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness, under the law blameless.
Leader: But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
All: Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
Leader: For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:10-11
All: ...that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
No Place Better (Psalm 84)
Caroline Cobb
How lovely is Your dwelling place
How wonderful Your presence, Lord
How my soul longs to see Your face
To come with joy into Your courts
How blessed is the little sparrow
Who makes a nest inside Your house
‘Cause I can think of no place better
To make a home and sing out loud
CHORUS:
I want to be in Your presence
I want to be near Your heart
I want to know You’re close
Even when I’m feeling far
I don’t want what this world would offer
I want the living God
‘Cause there’s no place better
Than where You are
We will go from strength to strength
Even in the wilderness
You are turning tears to desert springs
Leaving gardens in our footsteps
How blessed is the longing pilgrim
Whose heart is set on Zion’s hill
The one who knows there’s no place better
To bring our sorrows and be filled (Chorus)
BRIDGE:
One day with You
Is better than a thousand elsewhere
One word from You
Is better than silver or gold
I’d rather be; a servant in Your house, oh God
Than a king with all the riches I could hold (Chorus)
Pastoral Prayer
Thanksgiving and Petition
Family Life and Offerings:
† Tithes and offerings can be given at fieldspres.org/give or in the offering box.
† During a brief intermission, children can go with their teachers for a lesson.
Sermon Passage
Philippians 3:12-14
12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Leader: The grass withers, the flower fades...
All: ...but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
Sermon
"The Goal"
Pastor Mike McBride
My Worth is Not in What I Own
Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty, and Graham Kendrick (2014)
My worth is not in what I own
Not in the strength of flesh and bone
But in the costly wounds of love, At the cross
My worth is not in skill or name
In win or lose, in pride or shame
But in the blood of Christ that flowed, At the cross
CHORUS:
I rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure
Wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him alone
As summer flowers we fade and die
Fame, youth and beauty hurry by
But life eternal calls to us, At the cross
I will not boast in wealth or might
Or human wisdom's fleeting light
But I will boast in knowing Christ, At the cross (Chorus)
Two wonders here that I confess
My worth and my unworthiness
My value fixed, my ransom paid, At the cross (Chorus)
The Lord’s Supper
† Receive bread and juice from one of our section hosts near you. Gluten free wafers are available at the front table. We will all eat and drink together.
All Glory Be To Christ
By: Dustin Kensrue, Chadwick Gardner (2012)
Should nothing of our efforts stand, no legacy survive
Unless the Lord does raise the house, in vain its builders strive
To you who boast tomorrow's gain, tell me what is your life
A mist that vanishes at dawn; All glory be to Christ
CHORUS:
All glory be to Christ our King, All glory be to Christ
His rule and reign will ever sing, All glory be to Christ
His will be done, His kingdom come on earth as is above
Who is Himself our daily bread, praise Him the Lord of love
Let living water satisfy, the thirsty without price
We'll take a cup of kindness yet; All glory be to Christ (Chorus)
When on the day the great I Am, the faithful and the true
The Lamb who was for sinners slain is making all things new
Behold our God shall live with us and be our steadfast light
And we shall ere His people be; all glory be to Christ (Chorus)
Benediction
† We invite you to stretch out your hands as you receive the Lord’s blessing.
